Is government a weapon?
We all agree, it must
Defend us from our enemies,
From bubbles that can bust.
Still bruised from a recession,
Are we game to reframe rules,
To placate Him, ad infinitum,
Old, and vengeful fool?
Which boundaries are strippable
To gain our nation’s peace?
The one between the church and state?
Twixt vaccines and disease?
Between the layers of government, then.
Let Federal rule State.
Let State have Cities as its vassals:
Feudal, poor, prostrate.
The boundary between each branch
Of government shows wear.
We look for Congress on the Hill
And find, nobody’s there!
We look for robes, so serious,
Nine, all in Justice clad.
Twixt some and the executive,
No boundary’s to be had.
But surely, there exists a line
Dividing crime and speech?
And surely, no executive
Would tell us what to teach!
Alas, we find these boundaries
In total disrepair.
The way to best avoid the clink
Is: silence your despair.
And what of those, the poor, the meek,
Those yearning to breathe free?
We have a special place for them,
One full of boundaries.
From metal cuffs, to bars, to fences,
To their swampy cell:
We’ve weaponized our pristine land
And turned it into Hell.
Twixt Hell and Heaven, nowadays,
The boundary is slim.
What’s good is evil, evil good,
And no one knows, but Him.
We twiddle thumbs in Purgatory,
Fear, our just reward.
If everything is weaponized,
What are we fighting for?
The answer is distraction,
Like a drunk avoids Last Call.
When every boundary soon gives way,
Then Heaven help us all.

Upon Reading Hannah Arendt
I’m still in shock that I am actually living in a fascist country (no hyperbole, we’re there).
I just can’t say the words…
I’ve come to the point where I can’t stay in denial any longer.
