Hope the holiday season is treating you well this year. Or at least as well as can be expected, in a year where everything else seems to be going wrong.Â
I was touched by an item in the news this week, meant for the tenderest ears, and I could not resist making a rhyme about it.Â
I hope you will enjoy this bit of holiday candy, meant to send the year out on a happy note! Merry Christmas (or whichever holiday you celebrate) and may we all have a happier year in 2021!
Dear Santa had to outsource.
I know you are appalled.
Because of COVID,
Santa’s been in
Quarantine since fall.
The elves have all been working.
They’ve herd immunity.
How jealous, we,
Who can’t be
In our own community!
But who will fill the stockings?
And who will deck the halls?
If Santa is in bed,
Then who instead
Will visit y’all?
So many kids are worried.
So many rack their brains.
Perhaps Polar Express
Will fix this mess
And send their trains?
But wait! The dawn is coming
And Rudolph’s nose, a-glow!
The reindeer all
are stamping–
It’s as if they somehow know!
Look! Santa’s cheeks are cherries!
Wake me! Is this a dream?
Is that Dear
Doctor Fauci
Giving Santa his vaccine?
He slaps on his suspenders!
He mounts his trusty sled!
The mound of toys
Is weighty, but
The reindeer’s nose is red!
And up! Above the rooftops!
And off! To spread his cheer
Goes Santa
Flying through the sky
To you and I
This year!

I love the Christmas poem! 🙂
Thank you KC! It was some much needed humor for this crazy holiday season!
I’ll be sure to keep my eye on the sky to catch a glimpse of Santa! I hope you and your family are doing well on this Christmas Eve.
