She had a happy bubble to preserve her happiness.
At five o’clock the news came on. She left to sew her dress.
She lived in many countries and survived, so far from home.
The key to her survival was to leave the news alone.
She had to run a family and to raise, protect each child.
She kept the currents calm at home. Beyond, the waves were wild.
She focused on the moment, planning only for the best,
Attending to the things she could control. Forget the rest.
She had a happy bubble all her life. It served her well.
While others fell despondent, she avoided that fresh hell
And saw the silver lining in the darkest thunder cloud
And simply put her earplugs in when tempests grew too loud.
We all could use a happy bubble, whisk ourselves away,
Enjoy a bath of good thoughts, when such dreariness holds sway.
What danger lies in shutting eyes? This, only time will tell.
If only things we just ignored would disappear, as well.
