I hope you are all tucked up nice and safe, anticipating Hurricane Florence’s imminent arrival on the US East Coast. In case any of you are in the mood to just wallow in “hurricania,” I have plenty of posts to suit your needs. Since I live in Florida, thoughts of hurricanes occupy a huge fraction of my brain, especially in the summer to early fall.
Below is a list of posts, written during and since 2017’s crazy hurricane season, which included, most notably, household names like Harvey, Irma and Maria. The posts are in reverse chronological order (newest, first).
The hashtag “hurricane” in the tag cloud at the bottom of each page will get you to them too!
And may Florence be kind to all of you.:)
COOL Picture and I will try to come back and skim/read.
The only one that affected us recently up in Vermont was Irene, but she was a doozy. You’d think we’d be safe, holed up in our mountain retreats, far from the tropics. Nowhere is completely safe, I guess!
You guys aren’t even ocean front. But then, states grow a lot smaller, in the NE?. Must be the water.
Stay safe!
Yeah, when the skies open up, the valleys fill up. And I live in a valley, but not the lowest point, so the neighborhood was spared. Made us extremely nervous, though.
Brad, hee hee, i was alluding to the drinking water causing the states to be stunted in growth–it was a joke, sorry. But so true about water being the main feature to watch out for with hurricanes. I have heard before that more people die from flooding than from wind.
