This week, I have two items for your consumption, should you choose to partake. One is the blogpost News from the Front, which details my weekend reading at JaxbyJax November 8 and 9, and some of the highlights of the event.

The second is the poem, No More, which I wrote in reaction to the election. It's not overly partisan. It simply explains how immigrants in the US can be compared to bees in a garden.

Since it's been a busy weekend I won't chat too much here. Naturally, because I was obsesssively reading and re-reading and editing and cutting my story "Patience," to squeeze it into the 15 minute time frame, I didn't get much writing done, otherwise, in the past two weeks.
|
Come to think of it, I'm not totally sure it did fit in the time frame, but no one seemed to count the time I had to pause for laughter to die down, against me. It was a very wonderful experience and I lucked out, with an amazing audience, fresh and receptive to my story, and not the least bit offended, by the bit of spice I threw into the pot.
|
On the neglected novel, my current word count is now 59,693, up 1610 from two weeks ago. Now, with the motivation from cross-pollinating at JaxbyJax and all the words of encouragement I received there, I can make a sprint for the finish line (circa 100,000 words) in the next several months. Then, on to the joys of querying!

Oh, and by the way, there was an election. Nuff said. Hope you are all recovering well.
