I was honored to get to read my story "Becoming the Story" about an old hippy finding a new cause at the JaxbyJax Literary Festival here in Jacksonville, December 1-3.

That experience was a whirlwind and also a wonderful opportunity to meet people who are of like mind. I talk about the event in the second selection below, A Weekend Worth Writing About. For contrast you can also read about the FWA convention in Orlando in late October in A Writerly Weekend, further down.

My first selection, Travelogue, is the final episode in the seemingly never-ending saga of my glorious trip to England last spring. I hope you have taken a look at some of these posts. There is a link in this final episode which takes you to the entire set so spend as much time reading or gawking at the pictures, as you like.

My third selection is a recent poem, which I could not resist putting up on the site. It's called Winter, and it talks about the aches and pains that come with the winter of our lives, keeping in mind that I live in Florida, and might have a somewhat different opinion of Winter (vs. Summer) than you who live further North.

Anyway, the last couple of weeks have been so much fun. I got to read aloud my poems The Passive Void and His Beard, both of which are not on this website. I also have an opportunity to do an open mic tomorrow and I'm sifting through, to see what I should use, to fill up between ten and fifteen minutes.
