So glad you have signed up to receive the For Random Learning Comes Newsletter! This is the one hundred and twenty-eighth edition.

It has been a while. It was March 30, when I sent my last newsletter. Life keeps coming at us, fast a furious, and I only have one published poem to show for nearly a month's worth of time. It's not as if there were any lack of inspiration!

I am currently hard at work on my manuscript for a collection of political poems. It is all but done and I just have to figure out which buttons to push, before I can show you when and where you can find it. I hope you will enjoy it. You will be the first to get the links when they are live!!

But this administrative task of getting a book ready to publish is taking all the hours in April. At least, all of those not spent on taxes, or on following up on my son's benefits, which seem to have somehow gone astray. I wrote a whole blogpost about that, but I'm trying to wait before pulling the plug and publishing it, since it contains a lot of ill feeling. After all, government is undergoing some shrinking pains right now, and one can't help but feel a bit sorry for it.

As it is, my only poem for you is about the brand new holiday, Liberation Day, when our President announced some pretty hefty tariffs on allies and foes alike. The markets wobbled and we are still feeling the aftershocks.

My novel, needless to say, is gathering dust. But I hope to return to it soon.
|

The upcoming collection will contain a few new ones too, and the ones now posted (78 of them!)will disappear from the website once they're published in a live book. I hope reading the poems, compiled together sequentially in a book, will help us all process this crazy time we're going through as a country!
