I’ll indulge in a little romance here, for a change. To all those fortunate enough to have found life-long partners (no matter how late in life) this one’s for you!
Thanks for coming by to read.
It was not so long ago,
When the salmon snapped
In the fire’s glow,
On the turquoise spring
We came to know,
Oh, not so long ago.
It’s only a couple years,
Since our train engaged
Its steampunk gears,
To a land of orange
Hemispheres,
A couple of years ago.
It’s only a short, short time,
Since our toddlers trundled
Through columbine,
With their ruddy cheeks
And their thundering thighs,
A short, short time ago.
It’s only a moment now,
Since a long white dress
And a wedding vow
Swept me off my feet,
All the way to now,
A moment, a moment ago.
And were the query new,
I’d consent to descend at this dizzying pace,
I’d consider the withering end of this race,
And not dither or quibble the terms of the case,
‘Cause I’d know the course was true,
If my co-captain were you.
