A very simple poem, but no less heart-felt, for its simplicity. Hope some of you have experienced similar happiness, however long-lasting or brief it may have been. Thanks for stopping by to read.
Suddenly, my eyes are opened.
Suddenly, my dreams come true.
Suddenly, I see all the things you mean to me.
Suddenly, I find myself with you.
Patiently, we turn a corner.
Patiently, we muddle through.
Patiently, we do all the things we need to do.
Patiently, we make our way, we two.
Finally we find we’re family.
Finally, release our brood.
Finally, alone, echoes of a happy home.
Finally alone again,
Finally we’re holding hands,
Finally, just swinging on the porch
With you.

For another longer poem about a shorter love, with much the same meter, read Bombay Deco.
I like this very much. It’s quite moving in its simplicity.
Thank you Liz. I got the same kind of comment fr my poem Big Sky about Montana-like wilderness areas and people who need to shut themselves away.
You’re welcome, Andrea.
