This poem criticizes those that go around with blinders on, ignoring reality, at the price of endangering those they love.
Thanks for coming by to read.
Let’s pretend that it’s normal,
That things are okay,
And that masks and vaccines
Are not needed, today.
Let’s say, that we’re safe,
And pretend that we’re fine,
And not worry, how close
We are standing, in line.
Let’s share the same classroom,
And breathe the same air–
Saluting the Freedoms
We’re lucky to share–
And take First Day pictures,
And pile on a bus,
And hope, that the virus
Won’t get all of us.
While the world’s in a panic
And nurses all quit,
Burned out, cause they’re endlessly
Burdened by it,
Let us send off our children,
Put them to the test,
Little lambs to the slaughter.
And hope for the best.
