{This is a response to Friday Fictioneers , timed perfectly with a rare cold front coming to Florida. Thanks for coming by to read and thanks for the prompt!}
The air caught in Augustus’ throat. Well below zero.
He looked over his shoulder. No one. He smiled.
Under his boots, the snow crackled, a skin of crisp meringue in moonlight.
Clutching the note in one bare hand, he passed it swiftly to the other, tucking his red fingers under the cuff of his sweater. Under-dressed, as usual.
“Over here!”
Mrs. Yardley’s whisper preceded her. She emerged from the gazebo, like a butterfly from its chrysalis. Only a light dress separated Augustus from his every desire.
She beckoned.
This was madness.
And yet, he felt drawn to the flame.
Oooh, shivery!
Thanks Liz!
I love this. So sweet and passionate and illicit. And that description of frozen snow – just perfect. Well done indeed, Andrea
Thank you Lynn.
My pleasure
I hope they don’t freeze to death in pursuit of their rendevous. I was drawn in from the beginning. Very well told!
Thank you, Brenda!
Romance with a crisp touch. Deftly done, Andi!
Thanks Penny!
The cold, the snowy surroundings? Those two things alone would kill any libido for me. Brrrrrr!
Yes, that is a problem. Perhaps she went on a shopping spree at the camping store ahead of time and has one of those tents that can survive a polar wind. I was definitely experimenting with hot and cold in this one, to the detriment of my poor characters!❄️❄️
Ooh, I’m thinking “lady of the house” and the gardener 🙂
I think you got my general train of thought…😊 thAnks draliman.
Hope there is a sauna…
Oh that does sound nice, Tanille!
Good Lord! Let us hope their combined body heat allows them their… interlude!
That was wonderful.
Thank you Dale. Im usually not the Harlequin romance type, but this photo just screamed for something illicit!
Ah hey…. nothing wrong with a little romance now and again 😉
Crikey – steamy stuff. Can’t help but think he is walking into a trap…
Such a chilly picture deserves a little warmth. I think your right in recognizing an element of danger here, Iain!
Well, heavens! They’re both going to catch their deaths of cold
Don’t try this at home… Thanks Neil
