Welcome to my site! I’m Andrea LeDew.

author

I live in Northeast Florida and write poems, stories and longer pieces, some of which fill these pages. My subject matter stems from my varied experiences –as exchange student in Germany, reader, mother, homeschool teacher, disability advocate, lawyer, citizen and political junkie. Whereever I turn, I’m learning something new and random, as we all do.

Having studied English lit, German and Law in college, I briefly worked, in my youth, as a lawyer in South Florida. Most of the rest of my adult life has been spent raising four delightful kids, including one with autism. He and his brother were homeschooled through middle school and high school, each with different, but appropriate, goals and destinations.

Life sends us down lots of roads we never expected to travel. I like to think that words and rhythm act as guideposts to help us find our way. At the end of the road lies acceptance. Or at least equanimity. Explore, and see where the words take you! More on me: About.
